What is RefundSelect?

RefundSelect is the newest method for Aims to process all student refunds and allow the student to choose how they would like to receive their refunds. 

What refund choices are available in RefundSelect?

RefundSelect allows the student to choose from the following choices for receiving their refunds:

When are refunds available?

Refunds are processed per the following schedule: For Financial aid refunds:

All refunds for any prior semesters are only processed once a week, every Wednesday, and will be sent to RefundSelect program to be processed.  

Financial aid recipients can expect a refund to be processed within 2-7 business days from the day funds are posted to their student account and creates an overpayment.

Non financial aid students (self paid, 3rd party, etc) should expect a refund to be processed to RefundSelect for any dropped courses or overpayments within 2-7 business days after the semester Full term drop deadline (not any sooner) After the semester Full term drop deadline, refunds are generated within 2-7 business days from the date an overpayment is generated on your student account. All refunds are processed to RefundSelect program and issued per your refund choice. 

If student has not made a refund choice in RefundSelect or only attended Aims prior to Dec 2016, a refund check will be mailed to you. No checks are available for pickup at the campus. 

How do i enroll in RefundSelect?

Enroll in 2 ways

  1. Check your MyAims email for welcome email from ECSI Heartland. Email has your unique key code and the Get started link
  2. Log into MyAims and on the MyFinancials tab click on the Enroll/Manage your RefundSelect link to start enrollment process. You will need your email from ECSI that contains your unique key code. 

I did not make a refund choice in RefundSelect, how will I get the refund?

Starting with Spring 2017 registration, all students attending Aims Spring 2017 and future were sent an email with RefundSelect enrollment information and how to make your refund choice.  The refund will be issued based on that refund choice. 

If student has not made a refund choice in RefundSelect or only attended Aims prior to Dec 2016, a refund check will be mailed to you. No checks are available for pickup at the campus.

I dropped a class and my parents paid, can the refund be issued to my parents?

Refunds are ONLY issued to the student. It is the student’s responsibility to repay parents, guardians or other parties.

I dropped a course(es) during the add/drop period for the semester, when is my refund available?

Eligible Refunds for dropped courses are generated 2-10 business days after the Full term drop deadline for the semester – not any sooner. After the semester Full term drop deadline, refunds for dropped courses, overpayments, etc are processed within 2-7 business days after a credit balance is generated on the student tuition account and processed thru RefundSelect. If you are a financial aid recipient and you dropped a course(es), your financial aid eligibility may be affected. Please see a financial aid staff member to discuss the matter.

Can i pick up my check at Aims instead of it being mailed to me?

No, refunds are issued to the student via the RefundSelect program. A paper check will be mailed to the address on record for you with Aims. 

I have been deployed for active military service, can my spouse receive my refund?

All eligible refunds can only be issued to the student due to FERPA laws.

I haven't received an email notifying me of a refund, what do I do?

I paid by credit card, can the credit card be credited for the refund instead?

No, Aims Community College cannot send a credit back to the credit card used for payment. All students should expect to be issued a refund per our refunding policies.

My parents paid by credit card for my account, can you credit their credit card for the refund instead of issuing the refund to the student?

No, Aims Community College cannot send a credit back to the credit card used for payment.

Can my refund be used to pay for any current charges on my student account that occurred after the refund was issued?

Once the refund is issued to you, it is your responsibility to pay the college for the additional charges by all payment deadlines.

I haven't received my check in the mail yet, what do i do?

Several things need to be done:

  1. Check your address on your student account to make sure the right address is on file for you
  2. Login back into RefundSelect to verify what address it was mailed to and when
  3. Has it been at least 10 business days since the check was mailed? - if no then wait until the 10th day before contacting Aims Cashier office
  4. After 10 business days has passed, contact our office and we can request for stop payment and void of the lost check. 
  5. After we request the void the funds will be reissued in another check or by another refund method if you have chosen Direct Deposit or Free checking account. 

I am a High School student; can the refund be issued to my parent(s)?

No, refunds are issued to the student via the RefundSelect program.  

Where can i cash the refund check from RefundSelect?

Students will need to deposit the check into an existing bank account or take the check to a check cashing place (additional fees may apply). The college can not cash the check onsite.  

RefundSelect does not have a local bank to visit.  

Is Direct Deposit option available?

Yes.  RefundSelect program has the option to have your refund deposited right to a banking account of your choice.
